What to expect at Ferrari World
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is the world's first Ferrari-branded theme park and home to Formula Rossa, the world's fastest roller coaster, which reaches 240 km/h in under five seconds. Located on Yas Island alongside three other first-rate attractions, the park combines real motorsport heritage with striking rides and immersive brand experiences under the world's largest space frame roof structure.

Formula Rossa: The World's Fastest Roller Coaster
Formula Rossa is the undisputed centrepiece of Ferrari World and one of the most extreme physical experiences available to the public anywhere on earth. Using a hydraulic launch mechanism similar to those used on aircraft carriers, the coaster accelerates from 0 to 240 km/h in 4.9 seconds, generating 4.8G of force that presses riders so hard into their seats that voluntary muscle control temporarily becomes difficult. The top speed of 240 km/h requires riders to wear protective goggles, as the wind at that velocity would be painful to unprotected eyes.
The ride itself lasts about 1 minute 32 seconds, during which the coaster reaches its maximum speed on a straight section before sweeping through a series of banked turns, hills and spirals. Despite the dramatic statistics, the coaster remains accessible to most healthy adults. Besides, the height requirement is 1.4 metres and standard health contraindications (heart conditions, back problems, pregnancy) apply. Generally, the ride is incredibly popular and queues can reach 90 minutes on busy weekends. Visiting on a weekday morning allows riders to experience it multiple times.
Other Major Rides
Flying Aces is Ferrari World's second major coaster, themed around Francesco Baracca, the WWI Italian ace fighter pilot whose prancing horse emblem was adopted by Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari. The coaster's first element is a 51-degree climb to 52 metres followed by a 63-degree descent, before the most intense section, a vertical loop that holds the record for the world's tallest loop on a non-inverting roller coaster. It's an excellent coaster in its own right and far less aggressive than Formula Rossa. This makes it accessible to a wider range of visitors.
Scuderia Challenge
Scuderia Challenge offers visitors the most authentic racing driver simulation available outside a professional racing team, a full-motion simulator reproducing the cockpit of a Ferrari F1 car on a real Grand Prix circuit. The simulation is precise enough to train racing drivers and extreme enough to challenge even experienced gamers. Driving with Champions takes this further with a six-degree-of-freedom simulator that recreates famous Ferrari championship-winning laps at full intensity.
For families with younger children, Junior GT offers a scaled driving experience on a miniature road circuit, while Benno's Great Race provides gentle, age-appropriate rides themed around the characters of the Ferrari children's universe. Also, the park caters for all ages from toddlers to grandparents.
Ferrari Heritage Gallery
One of the park's frequently overlooked highlights is its striking collection of original Ferrari race cars. Displayed in the Heritage Gallery at the heart of the park, the collection includes championship-winning Formula 1 cars spanning decades of motorsport history, road car prototypes from the 1950s and 1960s, Le Mans competitors, and a rotating selection of significant vehicles from Ferrari's 75-year racing history. Moreover, for motorsport enthusiasts, this gallery alone is worth a significant portion of the entry fee.
Getting the Most from Your Visit
The park is fully air-conditioned throughout, making it comfortable regardless of the season, a significant advantage in Abu Dhabi's climate. The park typically opens at 11 AM daily. For the best experience, arrive at opening time on a weekday, head directly to Formula Rossa before queues build, then proceed to Flying Aces. By late morning, when new arrivals begin queuing for headline rides, the simulator experiences and heritage gallery are often much quieter.
The Yas Island Three-Park Pass (the park + Yas Waterworld + Warner Bros. World) offers excellent value for visitors planning to spend multiple days on the island. Single-park tickets are available for AED 345 adults and AED 275 children, with online booking typically saving AED 20–30 versus gate prices.
